Alaska Cruise Travel Tips

Travel Tips:

Classroom Attire: Your preference, there is no dress code.  However, we do recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater since sometimes the conference room is cold.

Travel Documents: You will need a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after entry to Canada.  US citizens can find more information by visiting the Travel State Website.  Non-US citizens, please contact your native country's respective department for more information.  We recommend to make two paper copies of your passport (leave one at home with a trusted person and keep one in your suitcase) and also take a picture to keep in your phone as well as emailing it to yourself and / or saving it on a file server you can access such as dropbox.  Having an accessible copy will make your life much easier if your passport is lost.

Transportation:  We recommend flying in to Seattle International Airport (SEA) the day before the cruise and spending the night in Seattle to ensure you do not miss the cruise ship due to travel delays.

Tipping:  The cruise purchased from CME Custom Travel includes gratuities.  However, we recommend tipping the porter at the dock as well as your guides on excursions.  Additionally, any cruise staff members that go beyond normal service will be extremely grateful if you leave an additional gratuity.

Drink Package: We recommend purchasing the drink package even if you do not drink alcohol.  Why?  The drink package includes a small internet package or a discount on the complete internet package.  It also includes a daily credit for excursions as well as two dinners in the specialty restaurants.  So, you will receive benefits exceeding the cost even without partaking of the alcohol.
