Target Audience:

Those who practice hospital-based medicine for adults, including:

  • Physician hospitalists
  • Primary care physicians, especially those who perform hospital follow-up visits
  • Surgeons and other specialists who admit or care for hospitalized patients
  • Nurse practitioners and physician assistants who treat hospitalized patients

Statement of Need/Program Overview

Hospital medicine is a critical and growing field, and there is a dearth of continuing education focused on this field. The clinical aspects are quite broad – all adult hospital medicine topics. The Hospital Medicine Update series strives to be the best source for updates relating to hospital medicine.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Discuss updates and new evidence in the medical literature
  • List recent guideline updates and recommendations
  • Identify best practices for common issues in hospital medicine
  • Review expert opinions for areas lacking data and evidence

Instructions to Receive Credit

In order to receive credit for this activity, the participant must attend the conference in person, complete a posttest, with 70% or better, and evaluation. Certificates will be emailed to you within one week of completion of the evaluation.  ABIM MOC learners' credits will be uploaded to the ACCME PARS system within 30 days of activity completion.

Physician Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Global Education Group (Global) and Hospital Medicine Seminars, LLC.  Global is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physician Credit Designation

Global Education Group designates this live activity for a maximum of 16.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABIM MOC Recognition Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 16.0 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Nurse Practitioner Continuing Education

Physician Assistants

AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 16 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program.
