Travel Tips

Cruise departs Galveston on August 16, 2025 for 8 nights, visiting Puerto Costa Maya, Cozumel , and Royal Caribbean's private island CocoCay in the Bahamas with its great beaches and massive water park.

Passport Required: Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the cruise date. To obtain a US passport please use this link

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html

US processing times are available here.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/processing-times.html

Embarking: If you are flying to Houston to go to Galveston, we STRONGLY recommend arriving the day before departure, and spending the night in a hotel. Your hotel can advise when booking if they provide pick-up shuttle service from the airport. If your hotel does not provide shuttle service, we have found Uber to be fast, convenient, and reasonably priced.

Disembarking: You will probably be off the ship between 7:30-9am, no later than 10am.

If you have an early flight, Uber / Lyft are fast and curb-to-curb. You can save 30 minutes vs. taking the shuttle.

If you are flying out of Houston, we recommend scheduling your flight home for noon or later on the day you disembark. Also, please note that Houston Hobby is much closer than IAH.

Shore Excursions

We recommend booking popular excursions early - some can sell out weeks or months in advance. If you buy an excursion through Royal Caribbean, they guarantee the ship will not depart before your excursion returns even if you encounter accidents, mechanical failures, etc. It is possible to book excursions more frugally outside of Royal Caribbean but there is a risk of missing the ship if a significant delay occurs.
